When choosing a good pocket knife, there are several things to consider. There are so many types of pocket knives on the market: folding pocket knives, Swiss army knives, double blades, and so forth. Having a good pocket knife that is both practical and functional is a must for a guy.

The folding pocket knife is one of the most popular knives to carry. There are some newer ones that have come out on the market called assisted opening knives. These assisted opening knives come equipped with F.A.S.T. technology, which stands for forward action spring technology. These types of pocket knives can be opened easier and faster, allowing the user fast access to opening the pocket knife with ease. These folding pocket knives can come with a secure locking liner which keeps the blade in place until the user needs it.

Some folding knives are ambidextrous, which is a plus because there are a lot of left handed people in the world and having a pocket knife that can be used in either hand is a very important feature to have.

The folding pen pocket knife is a very nice knife. Its slim design makes for easier carrying. It has double blades that fold out, one on each end and usually one is bigger than the other one. This makes for a very multi-functional knife as hunters; outdoorsman and fisherman alike sometimes need different sized knives. Having a double blade folding knife can give them more options.

There are several multi-functional knives to choose from. These knives have so many features and tools and would make a perfect gift for someone. There are trio fold pocket knives which have three blades, one big blade and two smaller ones. This is another good choice for an outdoorsman. There are also pocket knives that have different tools. These are sometimes classified as Swiss Army knives. The tools that come with these pocket knives can include a can opener with a screwdriver, bottle opener, wood saw, wire stripper, corkscrew and tweezers. The options are endless. Really when choosing a multi-purpose folding knife, it is basically up to the user as to what kind of features he would like to have.

Choosing a good folding pocket knife does not have to be a hard task. Knowing what kinds are out on the market, their price range and the brands offered will help in making the decision a little easier. Do your research. You will find a great pocket knife that is just right for you.
