Flowers are one of the most beautiful creations of nature. Everyone loves flowers. The color and smell of any flower is able to create a very happy feeling in every one's mind. Orchid plants and flowers are the symbol of beauty They are different from other flowers in their look and smell. A variety of orchids are available in the world.

The orchids have an interesting and exotic aura about them. The orchid family is considered to be the largest and most elite family of flowers on earth. It is believed that the Lilies belong to a nearby family of the orchid flowers. Orchids and Lilies have a number of similarities. Orchid plants are evergreen perennials and herbaceous. The orchid plants vary in size. They may be very small or very big.

Botanically the Orchids are classified as a plant group belonging to the Kingdom-Plantae, order is Asparagales, family, Orchidaceae and genus is Orchis. As I have mentioned before there are many types of orchids. Each and every variety of Orchid has its own beauty. They vary in their size, color ,smell etc. They may vary according to their growing seasons.

Some common orchids found are- Phalaenopsis Orchids, Paphiopedilum Orchids, Oncidium Orchids, Vanda etc.

These plants grow in almost all countries. Most of these orchid plants can be found in tropical countries, mainly South America, Asia and Central America Orchids also grow in colder regions like the Arctic and the Antarctic.

The orchid flowers are a visual delight.It can be used as a good gift for occasions also. Orchids are also used for decoration and beautification. Orchid cultivation is a blooming business of today.

Whatever some critics say, orchids are the most amazing type of flowers. They are symbols of grace and beauty. The smell and colors of orchid add an aura to an environment of celebration. These flowers are available in world wide stores. These flowers are popular among all people across the world. As different orchids grow in different regions so all varieties may not be available at the same store. Common varieties are however available all over the world.
