Diving During A Family Holiday
If, like me, your overseas scuba trips are centered about family holidays instead of going for some exotic diving location, then you need to look after the family first and second choose a good diving spot. But that does not mean that the location as a diving spot is not to be considered.
It will also rely on what time of year you are visiting as to which spots have the best conditions. But for me, on a family holiday, I cannot resist the Canary Islands for their year around wonderful climate and good diving opportunities, whilst leaving enough activities and admirable hotels for the family to enjoy.
Whilst in the water, you will be likely to see sting rays, eagle rays and even angel sharks, all depending on dive website and time of year. Some web-sites have extraordinary geographic formations whilst others have ample of fish.
Choosing a site for diving on a family holiday is all around going for a suitable holiday location that happens to have good diving.
Learning to Dive
There are maybe two locations above all else that people I know will head out to, either to complete or even to undertake their diving courses. Quite a few go to Mexico, whilst numerous more head out to the Red Sea diving resorts of Egypt.
If you are heading out to take part in diver training as the focal part of the trip, then you want to ensure perfect weather to make sure that you are able to get into the water every day. And year around, that is what Egypt in particular is known for. If you would like to complete a referral or to undertake a full diving course abroad, then Egypt is where I would be heading off to.
A Diving Holiday
If you are organising a diving holiday for yourself and a couple of friends or even a big group and diving is the key aim of the holiday, then lucky you! It really is right that the world is your oyster.
The first thing to look at when arranging your trip is what time of year you are going to be diving. Write down a list of your fantasy diving locations and check each one against the time of year that you intend to be there.
Then, for all of the destinations left on the selection, take a look at what is possible to be on offer when you are visiting. There is no point heading out to a particular location to see Whale Sharks, as for instance, if they have been and gone. What you need to decide is which of the pleasures on offer do you want to experience?
Finally, take a look at your shortlist of locations and then look at the travel costs. You have worked out the best places weather wise and for experiences, now just see which ones are affordable to your group.
Now you have as near as you can to your group's ideal scuba diving site. Enjoy it, and tell me how you got on!
