BMW, the luxury automobile maker is introducing it’s new SUV BMW X1 in India. This introduction of BMW X1 is planned on the last week of 2010. This latest SUV model is designed with a stylish air, comfort, distinctive control levels, elegant exterior and interiors and with special features. With its three models of Indian Corporate, Cool Elegance and Highline Editions, this compact luxury autos are going to ply on Indian roads. This cheap and best SUV model of BMW is energised by the two editions of 1.8 litre petrol and 2 Litre Diesel engines. Other features on this model are 4 Cylinder, 1995cc, 16 valve, twin turbocharged engine with 177 BHP power, 4000rpm with 350 Nm and the maximum torque at 1750 rpm. To provide a smooth drive, it is designed with six speed transmission gearbox for an effective power supply.
To compete with other competitors, BMW X1 is designed as a rear-wheel-drive vehicle which makes the value of car a reasonable one. Though the BMW X1 model is designed based on its BMW 3 series some special features are not included with this all new BMW X1 model like BMW 3 series corporate versions, but they are available with High Line and Cool Elegance models. Base Model of 1.8 Liter petrol versions would cost INR 22,00,000 and the 2000 cc Diesel version is priced at Rs 23 Lakhs. The high-end variant car, the Cool Elegance will be retailed at Rs 32,50,000. The 2 Liter Diesel Exclusive version would be priced at Rs 29,00,000. The introduction of practical priced luxury series of BMW will be a great news to Indian car lovers.
BMW’s Chennai production plant was geared up to produce these BMW X1 version and this corporation had plans to produce this new car in last quarter of this year. Chennai Production Plant of BMW has the capacity to produce 5,000 units per annum and to manage the increasing demand BMW has plans to import the new X1 series automobiles. Actually, the BMW 3 series Cars and the BMW 5 series sedans of gasoline and diesel versions were manufactured in its Chennai Plant in a CKD form. BMW India has experienced a 43% rise in its Indian car market product sales with a total of 3,301 units within 8 months.
