The pet industry continues to expand as the number of products which are designed specifically for pets are introduced on the market year after year. People's needs regarding their pets is one of the largest growth areas despite the current recession, with people in the UK not appearing to make any cut backs with regards to the brand of food or products for their beloved animals.

Whilst many believe that much of the products available for pets are essential for both the pet and its owner there are some who believe that the additional luxury styles of products are not necessary and are only brought for the vanity of the owner rather than enhance or maintain the health of the pet.
Irrespective of which side of the fence people stand regarding luxury pet products the industry continues to thrive as people are not prepared to make any cut backs in the way they treat their pets. Recent studies have shown that growth area within the pet industry is expanding at a global level, with countries which are not typically associated with purchasing luxury pet items now buying products in vast quantities. The studies and predictions indicate that the trend is going to continue, despite the economic downturns and recessions, as the number of people buying exotic and pedigree pets also continues to see an upward trend.
