The St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm features some of the oldest and best-preserved dinosaur tracks in the world. In 2000, dinosaur tracks were discovered and since then the site has been attracting visitors.
Within a 10-acre area, more than 1,000 tracks have been found. Most of the tracks that have been found were made by Dilophosaurus-like creatures that are three-toed, 13-18 inches long.
Researchers have identified skin prints and impressions made by tail drags and swimming movements, some dating back 205 million years.
The Pine Valley Mountains are located north of I-15 between St. George and Cedar City. The highest point of these forested mountains is Signal Peak, at 10,325 feet.

There are many historical sites that can be found in St George. One of the most popular is the LDS St. George Temple. The large white temple serves as an important landmark in the St. George area.
The temple was built by Mormon pioneers, who began construction on the temple in 1871. The building was completed and dedicated, in 1877, making it the first LDS temple to be completed in Utah.
Along with the LDS Temple in St. George you can visit several other historical LDS buildings and homes.
St. George. provides an ideal place to bike through red rock and forests in the desert and mountains. Not only are the trails scenic but the weather is ideal.
Spring and fall are the most ideal times to bike near St. George, because of the notable weather. Winter days can often be mild and many bike year-round in the St George area. During the summer, weather can be rather hot but there are some trails located at higher elevations making it a great time to bike as well.
