If you raise rabbits in your yard you probably keep them in a rabbit hutch you raised pigeons you would keep them in a pigeon coop. If you were going to keep a whole pack of dogs you would probably keep them in a kennel. You don't need a kennel if you have just one dog or two or three. If you have a small number of dogs they will probably spend most of their time in the house watching TV with the family.

Or maybe the dogs are just hanging out with the family. Noted authorities say that dogs don't watch TV because they do not have the TV watching kind of eyes. That may be but many people who hang out with dogs and TV sets will tell you that their dogs get very excited when another dog appears on the screen. It has been suggested that dogs don't watch TV because there aren't any programs on that they like.

It's sort of like saying sixty year old women don't go to the movies. Well of course they're not going to the movies to watch a lot of unshaven young men blow things up and kill each other. Give them a good old fashioned romance and they'll beat a path to the box office.

Box offices look something like rabbit hutches. Box offices usually have glass or Plexiglas in front of them instead of that wire mesh stuff that hutches have. Both the mesh and the glass allow an observer to see who is inside and allow the occupant to see out.

Television sets are similar to hutches. You can look into them and see tiny people and occasionally rabbits and dogs. The tiny people and rabbits and dogs probably cannot see out even though the front of the TV set is covered with glass. The glass is important because it keeps the tiny people inside the box so they can't get out and go running around shooting each other and smashing their cars into the china hutch.

Some living rooms have a china hutch. It is different from a rabbit hutch in that it contains no rabbits. A china hutch has shelves where dishes can be stored and displayed. Underneath the shelves there are cabinets where you can store all sorts of things but not rabbits.

Occasionally you will find a cat in one of the cupboards of the hutch. The cat is there because it is a cat, not because it is being stored there. Cats get into places they are not supposed to be and then when somebody closes the door and accidentally locks them in they get all indignant and act like it's your fault they are in a cupboard. They usually don't make a fuss until after they have had a long nap. That's what cats do. They find a place to take a nap and then try to make you feel guilty.

Unlike rabbits, cats do not live in a hutch. Cats live where they want to. If they live in a house they live where they want to live in the house. Many rabbits are happy living in hutches. Some rabbit hutches are very elegant. You can see some on YouTube. There is one rabbit hutch that has a ramp so the rabbits can go upstairs to their elegant living quarters or go downstairs and play in the yard. Those are very spoiled rabbits but I suspect they are happy.
