Compost should notNike Tn be mistaken for dirt. Lots of people will think that compost is the same as ground dirt, which is far from the truth. This will be a material that will become natural fertilizer, supplying the dirt nutrients, to make your garden, plants, and flowers strive.

Before learning how to compost you will see that there are choices you will need to make, what type of container and style suits your project, what type of material is going inside the compost bin, and the location of your bin. However, no matter what you decide to set up this project, how waste is made into compost will be the same no matter what. It is a decomposition process that will occur when the microbes break down the organic matter.

How this matter turns into compost will only be possible with the help of microbes. In order for them to do a good job you will need to supply them with the right amount of water and air. If you have been putting off getting a compost bin or making a pile because you think it will smell, foul smell will only happen if the waste is not getting enough air. Even if the waste does not get air, it will eventually break down, but it will be broken down by anaerobic microbes, these microbes do not need air. So if you do have an unpleasant smell coming from your compost bin or pile you can rotate the material to let in more air or add a substance to create more room for the air to circulate. Adding material such as dry leaves or hay can be an ideal material.

Composting is good for the environment and your garden, it eliminates the amount of waste you throw away and enriches the soil your plants grow in.
